Appendix D: Empirical Predictions
This appendix consolidates claims that connect the book’s structural framework with empirical inquiry. The rows differ sharply in status: some state the book’s formal framework; some are explanatory hypotheses that add substantial auxiliary assumptions; and some are ordinary empirical predictions. A scientific result can challenge an auxiliary hypothesis, an interpretation, or the framework’s application without automatically falsifying the Chapter 2 modal proof.
The classifications are therefore:
Structural framework claims: claims about the role vocabulary and the book’s modal model. They are not empirical predictions by themselves.
Framework-guided hypotheses: claims combining the framework with abductive, theoretical, or empirical auxiliary assumptions. Their Basis and Status columns matter decisively.
Empirical predictions: claims testable by ongoing research programs; the Status column records their standing.
The final table records positions the book treats as under pressure within its framework. It should not be read as a list of positions refuted by empirical evidence alone. The framework is exposed to empirical contact through its auxiliary hypotheses and identifications, but that exposure must be stated at the appropriate register.
Tier 1: Structural framework claims
These articulate the book’s role framework. Their physical, cosmological, and biological applications require additional theory and evidence.
