Everything here, from argument to presentation, was produced by one person — without any external funding, grants, or donations. That isn’t to say it was free to make: it took the better part of a year, from idea to first release, and the time concentrated on the project displaced income, drained savings, crowded out social connections, and paid for the tools needed to build it. That was my choice, and I don’t regret it. I’m not asking anyone to cover what’s already been spent — but going forward, I can’t give the book any more serious attention without a livelihood.
If you find the work valuable, there are two ways to help. The first is putting the book in front of a real adversary in the relevant field — the argument needs serious pushback. The second is financial support: any little bit, whether one-off or recurring, is genuinely welcome. What it funds:
- Sustained availability — digital formats of the book will remain free, always.
- Continued work — revision, research, and the time to answer serious objections carefully.
- More languages — time to translate the book for readers who can’t read it in English. If you’re a native speaker of a language the book isn’t in yet and you’d like to help, use the Contact page to reach out.
- A future print edition — offered at cost, as an addition to the digital editions rather than a replacement.
- More public engagement — time to actually reply and engage, beyond what the current time budget allows.
